ஐந்துறுபூதம் சிந்திப்போய் ஒன்றாகப்- பின்னர்
அதுவும் சக்திக் கதியில் மூழ்கிப்போக- அங்கே
முந்துறும் ஒளியில் சிந்தைநழுவும் வேகத்தோடே
முடியா நடனம் புரிவாய் அடுதீ சொரிவாய்!
அன்னை! அன்னை! ஆடும் கூத்தை
நாடச்செய்தாய் என்னை!

பாழாம் வெளியும் பதறிப்போய் மெய்குலையச்- சலனம்
பயிலும் சக்திக் குலமும் வழிகள் கலைய- அங்கே
ஊழாம் பேய்தான்ஓஹோஹோவென்றலைய- வெறித்து
உறுமித் திரிவாய் செருவெங்கூத்தேபுரிவாய்!
அன்னை! அன்னை! ஆடும் கூத்தை
நாடச்செய்தாய் என்னை!

சக்திப்பேய்தான் தலையொடு தலைகள் முட்டிச்- சட்டச்
சடசட சட்டென்றுடைபடுதாளம் கொட்டி- அங்கே
எத்திக்கினிலும் நின்விழியனல் போய் எட்டித்- தானே
எரியும் கோலம் கண்டே சாகும் காலம்
அன்னை! அன்னை! ஆடும் கூத்தை
நாடச்செய்தாய் என்னை!

காலத்தொடு நிர்மூலம் படும் மூவுலகும்- அங்கே
கடவுள் மோனத்தொளியே தனியாய் இலகும்- சிவன்
கோலம் கண்டுன் கனல்செய் சினமும் விலகும்- கையைக்
கொஞ்சித் தொடுவாய்ஆனந்தக் கூத்திடுவாய்!

The resounding rhythm of the exploding universe – In the void,
The elements shriek in gleeful bloodlust,
Joined by the Damaru’s beat of annihilation– and there in its midst
You dance, Kali, Chamundi, Kankali!

The five elements fuse to become one
And the one blends into you, the pure energy
And there, rising in the blazing light, at the slipping speed of thought
You step out in your eternal dance, showering fire!

Burns the vast ether, burning its soul along– Energy
Striving to move, finds its pathways lost-
The Demon of Destiny wanders aimless in mayhem, - and there
You stride, midst the abstract, reveling in the chaos!

Energy, fiend like, makes rhythm thumping heads to heads;
In that pulsating tempo of crushing heads,
The fire of your eyes pours forth into all directions
And there dies Time, beholding itself burning into oblivion

The tranquil light from His penance persists – Shiva
